Well I think Lotus would know, but why would yo not want to do this...

This sounds like a normal behaviour. The Shortname/UserID field is being used to identify the user, and then when you F9 or Enter the mail, the the Name is fully Resolved for mail routing purposes.

Why would you want it to NOT do that?
